My podcasting journey began in an unexpected way. In March 2020, I was hired to write the score for the theater production Lavender Men. Just two weeks later, the pandemic hit, halting the production and leaving many of us searching for creative outlets.

During this downtime, my collaborators, Lovell Holder and Roger Q Mason, decided to start a podcast to stay busy and continue creating content. They turned to me as the audio person they knew best. Despite having never recorded a podcast before, I embraced the challenge. I dove into research to learn the ins and outs of podcasting—what was needed to get started and which tools would be most effective.

This experience not only opened a new door for me but also expanded my network significantly. Through my work on Sister Rogers Gayborhood, I met individuals from Roger and Lovell's network, including Ann James and Carly DW Bones, who were launching their own intimacy coordinators podcast. Collaborating with them further honed my skills and deepened my understanding of audio storytelling. I also connected with Tao Leigh Goffe from Cornell University, which enriched my perspective on the potential of audio narratives.

As I developed our first podcast, I discovered my passion for sound design, editing, and production management, all while collaborating with talented individuals who shared my vision. Since then, I’ve produced several podcasts, each one a new opportunity to explore narratives and amplify voices. I’m dedicated to helping others share their stories through the power of sound.
